Frozen desserts are perishable and should be treated with care.

 

When frozen desserts are exposed to temperatures above 10°F, they become subject to adverse changes in body, texture and flavor characteristics. It will be negatively affected if improperly handled or stored. Because of the fluctuating temperatures during transportation, storage and service, Sweet Tree recommends serving within a month of purchase.

 
 
 

Here are some tips on how to keep Sweet Tree in its most ideal form:

 
  • The temperature of a storage freezer should be 0°F (-18°C) or colder. If kept at a proper temperature, ice cream will be thoroughly frozen and will feel hard to the touch. If the product is soft, you will compromise the texture of the dessert.

  • Do not allow product to repeatedly soften and re-freeze. When small ice crystals melt and re-freeze, they can eventually turn into large, unpalatable clumps.

  • Sweet Tree is easy to serve between 6°F and 10°F, the ideal serving temperature range. Product should be removed from storage and placed in a dipping cabinet with enough time to come to the ideal serving temperature ahead of time, up to one day.

  • Keep the ice cream container lid tightly closed when storing in the freezer to reduce the formation of ice crystals. Once you’ve opened the container, scrap the sides of the container to prevent icing and waste. You can press a piece of plastic wrap or waxed paper directly on the surface of the ice cream before replacing the lid to keep freshness. Put it back in the freezer immediately after scooping, if removed.

  • Don't store product alongside uncovered foods; odors may penetrate and affect its flavor.
